A Tea Lovers Ideal Present: Tea Gift Sets

When I was a small girl I had a plastic-type tea set which I dearly cherished. It had been the best toy, powder blue in color with small white flowers. The tea set came with a teapot, 4 cups and four saucers. My sister and I would devote the mid-day using it. Sometimes we'd have tiny snacks and pour soda from the teapot into our cups to drink. That was fun!

Nowadays I don't drink soda out of tea cups anymore. I now take pleasure in sipping hot tea from a cup. And when good friends come to visit, we like to chitchat and chuckle over a nice cup of tea.

A tea set is a unique gift to give or receive on birthdays and special occasions. When choosing a tea set to give as a gift, be sure to find a set that is complete. It should include a tea pot, tea cups, sugar bowl and creamer. Some tea gift sets come with a box of tea bags. For people who like to use loose leaf tea, you can include a glass infuser with the tea set.

Tea gift sets come in all designs and sizes. They could be made of pottery, ceramic, glass, metal, silver or porcelain. The design may be traditional, whimsical, or oriental. Select a design and style that reflects your character or that of the recipient.

If you're a tea fan much like me, you'll discover tea gift baskets and sets irresistible. Some tea gift sets include brewing accessories as well. Some others have scones, soft biscuits, delicious cookies and other treats. I tend to be ambitious, so i merely adore tea gift sets that include various tea samplers. Other tea fans desire the standard true teas like green, black, white and oolong teas. There's also people who enjoy loose leaf tea or organic blends.

Tea gift sets and baskets can be found online, with countless kinds to select from. Choose one that you know the tea lover will like, or try out a new version of whatever they normally drink. There is little doubt about it, tea lovers will appreciate nothing more than a unique tea set for a gift on their special day.

Toddler Tea Sets – Turn Them into Fabulous Ornamental Items

If you are a parent whose children have grown up and moved out, then you must be wondering what to do with their toys. Well, how about using them for decorating your house?

If you have a look at some of the toys lying around, you will find that that there are many tea sets among them. The best thing about them is that you can easily use them to decorate your home.

You can use shredded paper for this. Yes, just stop putting shredded paper into the recycle bin. Instead, use it to decorate your cups. Just place the paper inside your children's tea cups.

Once you have placed the paper, put a few artificial flowers on top of it. You can easily find these flowers in a nearby crafts store.

The stems of the flowers will need to be cut off. Otherwise, the flowers will not sit on top of the cup. If you don't want to place artificial flowers in the cups, then you can try something else. You can also turn them into candy dishes.

You need to get a rubber kit and some extra strong glue for this. You will easily be able to find one at your nearby arts and crafts store. All you need to do is to glue the rubber piece at the bottom of the cup.

The best glue for this purpose would be wood glue. First, you need to place the cup on the rubber piece. Use a sharp razor to cut the rubber in the shape of the cup.

Now just put some glue on the rubber and place the cup on it. If you press the cup for a few seconds, the cup will stick to the rubber. The next thing that you need to do is just let the glue to dry.

Your candy dish is ready and now you need to place the candy in it. The rubber will make sure that the cups don't slide all over the table. The tea cups will work as a great decoration piece in your room.

The candy dishes can also be used as a centerpiece in your kitchen or in any other rooms. During a party or during a small gathering, it can be used to place dinner mints for your guests.

Yixing: Traditional Chinese Tea Sets

Yixing clay tea pots brew the best tea. Period. It is one of the oldest ways of brewing tea and certainly one of the most interesting, beautiful and practical. They are known worldwide for their special tea brewing qualities and beautiful designs.

The uniqueness of Yixing clay tea sets comes from the clay being very porous, instead of smooth and hard like a bone china tea sets or porcelain. This porousness lets the tea set actually soak up the tea, which means that after years of usage, it no longer is necessary to add tea to the water, because the flavor of the tea itself has been preserved within the pores of the pot. The pot and cups will naturally add flavor to the water. This is the what sets Yixing tea sets apart from the rest.

Aside from the main benefit of tea clay sets, there are still a few more. If you have a new clay tea set, you don't have to worry if it isn't "seasoned" yet. Because even if it isn't old yet, it will still add to the color, flavor and aroma of any tea you brew because the set is made of clay.

Yixing clay sets are the pefect example of craftsmanship and quality. They are usually ornate; decorated with beautiful depictions of ancient Chinese culture and tradition. These days there are numerous modern versions of clay tea sets, including ones that are painted or dyed different colors. If you don't think you would ever drink from a clay tea set, they still make beautiful decor and awesome conversation pieces.

Taking care of clay tea sets is pretty easy. But remember to never use soap or cleanser when cleaning your set! This is vital! Just remember that anything you put into the tea set, could potential be soaked into the clay; you don't want your tea to taste of soap. Aside from this, they aren't very much trouble. When your finished using your tea set, simply pour hot water over the clay and then rinse it again with water. No scrubbing is necessary. It is nice to dry the set with a tea towel if you have one, but if not, you can just let it air dry.

Another thing to note, is that you shouldn't brew more than one type of tea in your clay tea set. Most experts agree that using different flavors will cause the tea to eventually become unpredictable. This is because every tea you brew is soaked into the clay, so eventually, no matter what type of tea you brew, it will end up being some sort of a blend. Once you have mixed teas in your clay sets, it will be difficult to ever again get consistent flavor.

If you want to find your own Yixing tea set, all you have to do is look online. Or you could travel to China, but it isn't necessary anymore. You can't go wrong with a clay tea set, and you really can't get anything that is more traditional.
