Health Benefits Of Coffee And Tea

Some of the tastiest and most popular beverages except water are coffee and tea. I'm talking about non alcoholic drinks, of course. Now there are two main camps when it comes to consuming these drinks, and there is an ongoing heated debate as to which one offers the most health benefits to all of us.

Coffee is a drink that can cause cravings in us. Every morning when we wake up, one of the first things we do is brew our coffee just the way we like it. Many people say that only after drinking their first cup of coffee the day really starts. This is due to its strong caffeine content.

Coffee comes from the beans of a plant called Coffea which contains caffeine. Caffeine is actually healthy if consumed in not too high amounts as it can give us the energy we need during the day, it can help us fight antiaging due to the antioxidants that it has and it can actually reduce the dangers of getting Parkinson's disease. Being a stimulant, it has helped many of us during our late night studies for the upcoming exam, effectively saving the day.

On the other hand, tea is made from a plant that is called Camelia Sinensis. Just like with coffee, you can prepare and brew your tea in quite a few interesting ways. You can either use tea bags or brew your loose tea.

When it comes to the main differences between the two drinks, taste, flavor and aroma, along with the way to prepare them, are the things that are not the same. However both have antioxidants that fight early aging and both have caffeine, even though tea has it in a smaller amounts than coffee.

So if you're wondering which one should you drink from now on, I say pick the one that you like more in taste. As they both have their health benefits for the body, both of them are safe for drinking, provided you consume them in moderation. So why don't you go ahead and drink both? A cup of coffee in the morning to wake you up, and a cup of tea in the afternoon to calm your stomach and give you a good relaxing time at home after work.

A Green Tea Diet Can Help You Lose Weight

Maintaining a healthy weight is a larger challenge in today's world. This is because of the extreme access we have to all kinds of food. Also, while many people want to eat healthy they do not know where to begin and when shopping they find that the foods they may be able to readily afford are full of preservatives and sodium. Making a difference if your body means relearning what is good to eat and that means going back to the basics. Tea is the number one drink consumed in the world and for good reason. Green tea especially has many health benefits including weight management and it is from this finding that the green tea diet has become more popular.

There are a number of pills that purport to be just as good as green tea in giving you the same benefits. The truth of the matter, however, is that you should drink green tea in its natural state. This is where the most health benefits occur. Outside of wanting to lose weight there are many benefits to the consumption of this wonder tea.

Antioxidants are abundant in substances like red wine, chocolate, and tea but what do they do? Put simple, the antioxidants in green tea act like scavengers in your body that collect substances called free radicals that, if left alone, can cause DNA damage that could result in a number of issues like cancer.

In terms of cancer, green tea's specific antioxidant epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been shown in the lab to inhibit the growth of certain cancer cells, while destroying cells that grow abnormally.

The heart is also a beneficiary of good tidings by this tea since it reduces clotting. Its does this through its antioxidants that work as dilators which make blood vessels more flexible.

Improving the cardiovascular system also extends to a decrease in LDL cholesterol - the bad cholesterol. This can help with fighting obesity. Many case studies have shown that those drinking green tea lose weight regardless of whether it is caffeinated or not. In terms of regular vs. Decaf however, it should be noted that the caffeinated tea drinkers lost more weight which can also implicate caffeine in weight loss.

While earlier a case was made for drinking Chinese brand green tea, there are some supplements that also work, but you must do research. Just because something includes the words green tea does not mean that you are getting the amounts that will affect you. Studies found that pills with the highest amount of extract work best for weight loss so don't just go for the cheapest option.

The exact reasons why and how green tea benefits so many systems of the body has not been completely elucidated, and even if you are only interested in losing weight the benefits are far reaching.

A green tea diet is known to effectively boost your metabolism so that you burn off more calories. Green tea tastes good and is refreshing whether taken cold or hot.

Comparing Coffee And Tea

For millennia men and women from all across the globe have savored tea both for its healthful benefits and for its unique taste properties. Tea has been a mainstay in the dietary regime of many countries in the Eastern world as well as in countries of the west, such as Great Britain. It continues to be a mainstay in the diets of many Americans today, in part due to its great versatility.

Some types of tea are beloved because they serve as the ideal accompaniment to finger sandwiches and petit fours at a traditional afternoon garden tea party, while other types of tea are savored for their ability to help bring a sense of calm and rejuvenation after a difficult day. Some people choose to start their daily routine with a strong cup of Black tea, while others relax and unwind with a night cap of Chamomile Tea.

Tea blends can be purchased in a vast array of flavor blends, all of which are all-natural, and many of which are herbal-based. While they are often enjoyed solely for their taste and other properties, many teas are rich in antioxidants. Teas potent in these extremely important natural substances are able to help shield the body from chemical free-radicals in the atmosphere, and to help it defend itself against the potential onset of many types of cancer. Green tea has long been thought to be one of the most potent in terms of antioxidants, and as a result it has been the subject of much scientific study in recent years. Recent studies have suggested that there may even be a link between the presence of green tea in the Japanese diet and the country's overall lower rate of cancer.

While it has never been doubted that tea has numerous potential health benefits, it has only recently been discovered that its common counterpart, coffee, may also have health properties which are beneficial for the human mind and body. In the past decade scientists have begun to analyze the chemical composition of the coffee bean, and, as a result, have found that dark coffee, like tea, is very rich in antioxidants. Due to recent studies it has been suggested that daily coffee drinking may help with memory preservation and with the prevention of certain types of common cancer.

Coffee has long been enjoyed both for its rich, bold flavor and for its potent caffeination properties. People enjoy socializing over a luxurious warm cappuccino, or taking a break from a rigorous day of work to grab a cup of strong espresso. Whether it is enjoyed solely for its unique, smooth flavour or for the morning pick-me-up it provides, coffee has long been a staple in the American diet.

Like tea, coffee drinks come in a variety of flavors. Unlike tea, however, coffee beans from different parts of the world will reflect the unique climate and soil properties of their origins. One type of coffee grown in one part of the world will have a different flavor when harvested then one grown elsewhere.

Another significant difference between tea and coffee is that coffee is more often enjoyed with more additives and condiments. While tea is typically savored with just a bit of sugar or milk, coffee drinks often come with a vast array of additives, such as different types of milk, sweetener, or syrup. Thus while both tea and pure coffee have many nutritional properties, many coffee drinks provide a less healthy alternative to tea because they are often in calories, fat, and sugar.

Overall coffee and tea are very similar drinks in that they both possess a variety of healthful properties. However any coffee or tea lover will tell you that the two are quite different in both their flavor and the manner that they are enjoyed.
