A Green Tea Diet Can Help You Lose Weight

Maintaining a healthy weight is a larger challenge in today's world. This is because of the extreme access we have to all kinds of food. Also, while many people want to eat healthy they do not know where to begin and when shopping they find that the foods they may be able to readily afford are full of preservatives and sodium. Making a difference if your body means relearning what is good to eat and that means going back to the basics. Tea is the number one drink consumed in the world and for good reason. Green tea especially has many health benefits including weight management and it is from this finding that the green tea diet has become more popular.

There are a number of pills that purport to be just as good as green tea in giving you the same benefits. The truth of the matter, however, is that you should drink green tea in its natural state. This is where the most health benefits occur. Outside of wanting to lose weight there are many benefits to the consumption of this wonder tea.

Antioxidants are abundant in substances like red wine, chocolate, and tea but what do they do? Put simple, the antioxidants in green tea act like scavengers in your body that collect substances called free radicals that, if left alone, can cause DNA damage that could result in a number of issues like cancer.

In terms of cancer, green tea's specific antioxidant epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been shown in the lab to inhibit the growth of certain cancer cells, while destroying cells that grow abnormally.

The heart is also a beneficiary of good tidings by this tea since it reduces clotting. Its does this through its antioxidants that work as dilators which make blood vessels more flexible.

Improving the cardiovascular system also extends to a decrease in LDL cholesterol - the bad cholesterol. This can help with fighting obesity. Many case studies have shown that those drinking green tea lose weight regardless of whether it is caffeinated or not. In terms of regular vs. Decaf however, it should be noted that the caffeinated tea drinkers lost more weight which can also implicate caffeine in weight loss.

While earlier a case was made for drinking Chinese brand green tea, there are some supplements that also work, but you must do research. Just because something includes the words green tea does not mean that you are getting the amounts that will affect you. Studies found that pills with the highest amount of extract work best for weight loss so don't just go for the cheapest option.

The exact reasons why and how green tea benefits so many systems of the body has not been completely elucidated, and even if you are only interested in losing weight the benefits are far reaching.

A green tea diet is known to effectively boost your metabolism so that you burn off more calories. Green tea tastes good and is refreshing whether taken cold or hot.

Can You Really Lose Weight with Wu Yi Tea?

Seems too easy, right? Drink a few mugs of wu yi tea and lose weight without effort? I did not believe it either and then something peculiar happened over the holiday season.

First, you should know that I am usually pretty careful about what I eat. As well, I am one of those strange people who like to run on the treadmill. However, I am partial to Mexican food and margarita, neither of which are good for weight loss or fat burning. I also tend to get off track of my workouts when life becomes too busy, as in the holiday season!

Two weeks into January and I am no longer wearing my skinny jeans. I am in my "fat clothes" so I feel comfortable. Not this season, though. Keep reading to find out why.

A friend of mine had given me a box of wu yi tea to try. I love tea and drink it iced all day long. So, I just threw a handful of these bags in my pitcher of iced tea, brewed it along with the black tea and it was pretty tasty. I know it is supposed to be for weight loss, but I did not really think it would work.

For now, I had shopping to tend to and gifts to wrap. And of course, all the holiday parties with eggnog martinis, canopies, lobster tails dripping with butter, prime rib and all the yummy holiday desserts. I had no time to workout with such a crazy schedule.

About mid January, I braved the scale. The odd thing was I had not really noticed my jeans getting any tighter, but I was sure I had to have gained some weight pigging out on all that food and not working out.

I was literally shocked! Not only had I NOT gained any weight, I had lost 3 pounds. I panicked for a second thinking, uh-oh, maybe something is wrong with me. Then I remembered the wu yi tea. I looked at the box again and saw that it also had wu yi tea extract. This sort of super-charges wu yi tea's ability to help you lose weight.

Still not convinced, I did a little test. I stopped using the wu yi tea in my iced tea and went back to just black tea. I did not eat cheesecake (kind of tired of it), nor did I pig out. I ate around the amount of calories one would consume to maintain their current weight. I did not work out.

After a month, I had gained the three pounds back. So, you decide. Will a few mugs of wu yi tea help you lose weight without effort? Probably not if you intend to continue eating too much and not working out (eventually, your body would adjust). But I sure did not mind the boost wu yi tea gave me!

Can you really lose weight with wu yi tea? Go there now and discover how to lose those all those extra pounds with wu yi green tea!

Lose Weight With Green Tea

One of the most recent products to hit the dieting market are weight loss patches.

Motivated by the success of nicotine patches marketers hit on the idea that weight loss patches may well work the same way. Weight loss patches are basically designed for people who forget to take their usual dosage of weight loss supplements or capsules. With weight loss patches, a person will no longer have to take pills as he will have a 24 hour supply of substances fixed to his skin.

Weight loss patches are commonly made from such ingredients as algae and seaweed which are known appetite-suppressants. Later studies on weight loss and diets led to the use of green tea as a weight loss patch.

What? Green Tea as Weight Loss Patches?

As far back as the Ming era and maybe even earlier than that, green tea has been used as herbal cure and overall health drink in China. In modern times, speculations on the use of green tea as a likely remedy for cancer have arisen due to the finding that the polyphenol substance found in green tea can stop cancer cells from growing.

The polyphenols in green tea weight loss patches also have additional uses. A research paper published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that green tea polyphenols can speed up the metabolic rate of the body. With this new discovery, some companies specializing in pharmaceutical products have started introducing green tea into the market as a supplement either in the form of diet pills or weight loss patches.

Green tea weight loss patches are a better alternative to other products since they have no adverse side-effects. Other substances that induce weight loss like ephedra may increase heart rates which could lead to cardiovascular problems.

Green tea weight loss patches are good for people with high LDL, the bad cholesterol found in the body. Because the antioxidants in green tea weight loss patches destroy LDL cholesterols while at the same time enhancing the good cholesterol levels in the body, a balance in the body is achieved which could only lead to overall good health and well-being.

Green tea weight loss patches works in two ways. First, they restrain appetite naturally and safely. A study at the University of Chicago showed that rats when injected with green tea can lose up to 21% of their bodyweight. This is due to the fact that a substance present in green tea acts as a natural appetite-suppressant that staves off hunger.

Green tea weight loss patches also increase metabolism. With their high epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) content, green tea weight loss patches have a distinct advantage over stimulant diet drugs which can be harmful to individuals with hypertension and heart complications.
